Press the door button in the lift to open out onto the street. It’s time to get those pesky killswitches disabled, so finding Tracer Tong is a priority. Jock radios in to tell you about Tong’s compound East of the market.
Head North through the market, taking in the sights and sounds and the fact that armed cops are almost everywhere. This one doesn’t seem to mind, however, if you hack the ATM for 100c.
A little way East you’ll find 15c just lying on a bench. Keep heading East.
Up the steps to the temple is a datacube on the wall saying the temple has temporarily relocated to a different location in the North East. Time to explore later.

For now, head South then East until you reach the News Stand. Just off to the right of panel 3 you’ll find a medikit hidden behind a large metal box. Head inside to find 2 ATMs (82c in total if you’re short of cash).
Listen in on a conversation between the vendor and the white-suited kid—he seems to be hustling for a Triad gang. After he leaves talk to the News Stand vendor about the 2 Triad gangs in Wan Chai. A datacube on the table recommends some things to see and do around Wan Chai, including the market, the Lucky Money, and the Old China Hand bar. Read the papers for a bit of local colour, then head after the boy.
He leads you here, opposite the other door to the News Stand. Jock calls in to say it’s a compound that Paul used to visit. After the boy leaves, speak with Gordon Chen who’s guarding the door.
You learn this compound is home to the Luminous Path Triad gang. Chen tells you that foreigners are not welcome, but goes on to admit that he knows your brother. To gain access to the compound, Chen tells you to investigate Maggie Chow with regard to a "Dragon’s Tooth" sword. He gives you her address: 1313 Tonnochi Road.
Head back to the West of Wan Chai, and down this alley near the Lucky Money club.
On the left are steps up to a tea house. The proprietor is being harrassed by the Red Arrow Triads—competitors to the Luminous Path gang. Question him about the Triads to learn that the Dragon’s Tooth sword originated at the biotech company Versalife. Question him about Maggie Chow to learn that she has connections to Versalife, too. Head into Tonnochi Road at the end of the alley when you’re done.
Head over the canal and follow the signposts to Tonnochi Road. The police warn you that the canals are dangerous for tourists at night.
As you come out the other side, this Luminuos Path member (idenfiable by his white suit) comes running up. He warns you that you should beware of Maggie Chow. Speak to him repeatedly to learn that they had an operative watching Ms. Chow from the roof of the building next door. Additionally, that operative is away on business presently.
Here is Maggie Chow’s residence: Queen’s Tower, 1313 Tonnichi Road. Head inside.
The concierge directs you to the residents' directory at the rear. The entry for Maggie Chow suggests you’re welcome to visit using the Penthouse elevator on the left.
Another entry suggests the building is undergoing renovations, and gives the code to the right hand elevator: 3444. Given the repeated warnings to treat Ms. Chow with suspicion, it may be wise to take a good look round before approaching Maggie Chow directly. Enter the code 3444 into the keypad and ride the lift on the right to the roof.
This datacube provides a second keypad code for a bypass code located inside the lift shaft: 1709.
It additionally gives the credentials for the security system: QUEENSTOWER/SECURITY. If you pay
Harriet here 20c she’ll warn you not to use the nearby roof access to visit Maggie Chow’s penthouse.
What could all the protection be for? Head back down the elevator. Perhaps it’s best to see what
Maggie Chow has to say.
This time use the Penthouse Elevator. At the top you’re greeted by May, Maggie Chow’s housekeeper. Approach her and she’ll take you through to Maggie Chow. It seems you’re expected.
Through the Northern window you can see the balcony of an apartment—I’m reminded that the Luminous Path is keeping an eye on Maggie Chow. Approach her for a conversation. Maggie Chow claims to know Paul intimately.
She also claims that it’s the Luminous Path who are sided with Majestic-12 and that the Red Arrow are your friends. The proof, she says, is on a datacube at the
police station lockup. You can access it with the code 87342.
You’ve been warned more than once not to trust Maggie’s lies. Time to look around—especially since May will suggest you examine the many exquisite Chinese artifacts in the residence. Head upstairs. May will follow you closely.
The first room on the right seems to be May’s room containing a datacube where Maggie recommends two books: "Tai-fun" and "Insurgent". If you try to enter the second room, however, May will ask you to leave. If you ignore her for too long she’ll draw a gun and sound the alarm, so knock her out with your prod.
The second room contains security console and a couple of datacubes. The one on the desk has one
candidate for a password, but the other datacube on the table suggests that Maggie’s password has
been changed recently from Tai-Fun to something else. There are two books on the table: "Tai-fun"
and "Insurgent".
Sure enough the credentials mchow/insurgent grant access to the security console at the desk. The
middle camera is the roof where Harriet still wanders about. The other two suggest there’s
an area of the penthouse that’s hidden and off-limits. Open a door and disable all 3 cameras.
Go back downstairs, where Maggie remains sitting. Head round to the SE corner of the penthouse. The hanging lantern can be interacted with and opens the outer door to reveal the entrance to a hidden area. The door ahead on the left is the one you just opened at the security console. Head in crouched—the metal floor will make your footsteps loud enough to alert the several armed guards.
There are 4 in an adjoining room, but they’ll pay no attention if you’re silent.
You receive 50 skill points for entering the room, and Tracer Tong pops up in your communicator! You’ve found the Dragon’s Tooth sword, and get another 50 skill points.
Use the credentials mchow/insurgent on the PC to unlock the sword’s case and read
some emails that directly contradict Chow’s version of events. Tong contacts you again with
instructions to present the sword to Max Chen—the Red Arrow’s leader—at the Lucky Money club.
You’re awarded 200 skill points. You can listen to a message from Walton Simons in a nearby comms
alcove for further proof that she’s lied to you.
Grab the sword. If you need to make room (I decide to sacrifce the GEP gun) take care to drop items silently. Then head back to the ground floor in the elevator. Maggie Chow has vanished. Time to see if we can find out more about that Luminous Path operative’s apartment
Go down some stairs behind the concierge’s desk to this common room. There’s 52c next to the man watching TV.
Access the security console with the login QUEENSTOWER/SECURITY. The camera on the left
looks interesting—and changing the door status opens that grate. Disable all 3 cameras, time to
investigate the now-open grate.
Just outside to the West, a crate at the end of this alley contains a lockpick.
The large security robot round the corner from the entrance catches my eye—what’s it protecting? Sure enough, an open grate right next to a (now disabled) camera. Head into the alley and up a ladder.
At the top is the lift shaft. Enter the code 1709 and ride the lift up.
It takes you to the roof of the penthouse, and you’re awarded 50 skill points. Don’t miss a multitool on the elevator shaft railing before heading outside to find a skylight into Maggie Chow’s penthouse residence.
Sure enough, over the side of the Northern parapet I spy the apartment. With Speed Enhancement I reckon I can jump to the small roof above the balcony without taking too much damage…
I break the window into the bedroom and discover this PC. A datacube in the adjoining living room
near the TV (with a lockpick nearby) reveals the login: FLYBOY/5X5.
The emails strongly suggest that this is Jock’s apartment! The nanokey back in the living room to the front door confirms it. Go through the front door.
Head up the stairs, and then up the ladder just visible at the top.
You come out on a roof. Cautiously peer over the edge—you’ll need to jump the gap over to the ledge where the pigeon is in this shot.
On the ledge is a sniper rifle and ammo. Further along climb onto the girder, jump up to a ledge and follow it round to the left, then drop down (Speed Enhancement helps with the long drops) and eventually reach the ledge beneath the huge "Forichi" sign on the left here.
Speed Enhancement will get you acroos the gap to the sign on the girder below, where you’ll find a biocell and a lockpick.
Once on the girder, edge around the sign to see another ledge just above and to the left of the bunting strips. Again, Speed Enhancement breaks your fall. Follow the ledge along and over two planks.
You should come to this window. Go in for 25 skill points. The crates contain a medikit, another lockpick, and some ammo. Just around the corner is a breakable grate in the wall, and a vent leading to a another breakable panel. Drop through to reach the lift shaft from earlier.
Head East and back to the rendezvous with Max Chen at the Lucky Money club.
The club is in the underground mall near Wan Chai markets. Head downstairs. If you approach the Versalife door, Daedalus warns you not to attempt to enter until your killswitch has been dealt with.
Several police patrol down here. Follow either of these officers to the Lucky Money.
At reception, approach the "Club Guy" and strike up conversation. Tell him your name, and then agree to let him show you the club and he’ll pay your entrance fee (as a male character it would cost you 25c…)
Inside, the guy in the suit will tell you that the proprietor Max Chen will be in the back room.
Over on the right the guy seated in the booth is disgruntled about being fired from the QuickStop
shop outside, and volunteers the login to their security: MANAGEMENT/CODE324. Head up one of the
several staircases.
At the bar is Russ who paid your entrance fee. Ask either him or the barman about Max Chen. If you say that Maggie Chow sent you they will direct you to the door behind the bar. Speak repeatedly to the barman about the Chinese government before heading behind the bar to swipe 25c and then head through the door.
The door to the back room is in the corner behind the bottom of the steps.
It leads to a kind of boardroom for the Red Arrow Triad leaders. Max Chen—the Dragon Head—is through the door on the left.
He’s got quite a plush office. Approach him for a conversation. He doesn’t quite believe your story that Maggie Chow is behind the theft of the Dragon’s Tooth sword, but agrees to stop hostilities with Luminous Path until he’s conducted his own investigation.
As the conversation comes to a close the alarm is raised—MJ12 troops are raiding the club.
