Best to lie low until the shooting is over. The Red Arrows deal with the MJ12 troops in fairly short order. Loot the bodies for supplies before you leave.
You can break the glass of the QuickStop shop and use the login
MANAGEMENT/CODE324 on the security console to disable 1 of the cameras in the shop. The other is
easily evaded by hiding behind the counter. The same login works on the PC there to open a safe
containing 100c.
Just around the corner break the glass of the left and right display alcoves (mindful of the circling police patrol) to find flare darts and a LAM.
Head through the passage opposite the QuickStop and up the stairs to the left.
You can break the triangular window of the locked room up here to save picking the lock of the bars. However you do it you need to knock the police patrol out first. Inside is a clip weapon mod and biocell. There’s also a multitool behind a breakable door in the bathroom. Hack a nearby ATM for more cash before heading back downstairs, and then back outside to the markets.
Before reporting to Gordon Chen at Luminous Path we have a side-quest to complete: find the evidence for Maggie Chow in the Police station. It’s here at the South end of the markets, next to some kind of lockup. The police guard here pays no notice if you bash the door on the extreme left in.
Inside is a short ladder to an upper area. You get 40 skill points for finding this. The datacube
has the code for the Police Station keypad: 911. Grab the supplies and use the code on the Police
Station itself (there’s a "hidden" room in a dark corner of the lower area protected by a keypad
which opens with 22, but doesn’t contain much of interest).
Inside is one seated guard, and another in the next room. Give them both the pepper spray and prod treatment.
In the inner room, hack the security console and disable 3 cameras (you can open the door to the
lockup from here, but you already bashed it in). Then enter the code 87342
into the keypad to open the floor hatch.
You get 40 skill points for finding the hidden basement. The evidence is down the passageway and round the corner, where there are also more supplies. Your secondary goal is to return the evidence to Maggie Chow, but she vanished the moment you entered her secret room. Head back outside to the markets.
Time to report to Gordon Chen at the Luminous Path compound. On the way East from the mall, go into the small alley to find a lockpick high up on a broken girder, and some ammo in a crate before continuing to the compound.
Report your findings to Gordon Chen at the gate. When you reveal that Max Chen has agreed to a truce
he tells you that Tracer Tong has been here all along (what a surprise!) and provides
the code to the gate: 1997.
Inside you get 200 skill points. Head for the main building straight ahead.
Through a door in front of you go down some stairs and through the door shown on the left here.
After a long corridor you come out here. Hunt above and below the bunks on the left for a lockpick
and medikit, plus some prod ammo on one of the benches. E/nter the code 1997 on the
keypad next to the character-decorated panel on the right.
At the bottom of some stairs, push a button on the wall to reveal a hidden passage. Tong seems to be very security-conscious.
You’re greeted by Tracer Tong himself, and are awarded a 200 skill point bonus. Talk to him to learn that Alex Jacobson is here. After a little philosophy about technology, he admits that disabling the killswitch will leave you in his debt. Go through the door straight behind him here, and then left down some steps.
Step onto the platform and let Tong work his magic. When it’s done he asks you to return to the control room upstairs.
On the way, go through a door on the right at the foot of the stairs to find a medical bay with a medbot and a biocell. Alex Jacobson is down some adjoining stairs. He’s been researching Daedalus and thinks it might be a decommissioned global surveillance AI called "Echelon IV".
Back upstairs go right here, then right again to Tong’s control room.
Speak to him to learn that your brother Paul is well, and on his way to Hong Kong. Tong wants you to
steal the Dragon Tooth sword’s ROM encoding from Versalife to end the war between the Triad factions
once and for all. He gives you the code for the Versalife elevator: 06288, and tells you to look
out for a supervisor named Hundley.
Tong also provided a login for the PC outside: JCDenton/sanctuary. Read emails from Alex and Sam
Carter, and one from Daedalus who informs you of a Universal Constructor used (among other things,
presumably) to manufacture the Gray Death virus. It’s located in Versalife, and he wants you to
destroy it. On the nearby desk is a key to Jock’s apartment, and 100c.
Before leaving, head up the stairs for supplies. The crate on the right holds a clip weapon mod. Through the door beyond is another crate with a LAM.
Also through here is a room containing a repair bot. Recharge your bioenergy and collect tranq darts from the crate at the top of the short ladder before heading back out.
On your way out head through the door at the head of the steps (just before the courtyard) to find a lockpick.

Just to the West of the Luminous Path compound is a building with lots of small balconies, and another opposite with some larger ones. You can reach the balconies on the right using Speed Enhancement, and platform your way up. Cross the girders to reach the highest balcony at the far end of the building on the left to find a lockpick and multitool. The balcony right in the centre of the shot on the right hand building contains a biocell (2). From there you can reach the roof (3) to spy a larger balcony on the other building with windows and a door (3). Use Speed Enhancement to reach it from the other roof on the left. You’re rewarded with 15 skill points, some LAMs, EMP grenades, biocells, and a stealth pistol (4). Come back to ground level carefully—your Speed Enhancement will only protect you so much!
Heading West back towards the market is this passage to Canal Road.
Down here you can hack the ATM for 50c. There’s a lockpick on a ledge nearer to the bicycle rack on the right. If you come here before visiting Max Chen at the Lucky Money you get to witness a street fight between Luminous Path and Red Arrow fighters. Seems the truce is holding.
Further round is a police cordon. Attempting to cross the barriers will provoke their (armed) anger, so I leave them to it and return to the Wan Chai market area.
Back upstairs, right opposite the Canal Road sign, is this building. The door on the right is locked…
…but is easily dealt with using the Dragon’s Tooth sword for 45 skill points. The police officer inside pays no attention, but note the camera. Climb over the shelves on the right and hack a security console to disable it, and then make away with the tranq darts and other ammo on the shelving.
